Provectus Care in the Asia-Pacific Region

Provectus Care is innovating the residential aged care industry in China by providing a new standard for integrated health care and accommodation services. The Group is leveraging its Australian brand and reputation (synonymous with luxury and quality care) together with Australia’s internationally acclaimed model of seniors living, aged care and health delivery to expand into China’s aged care market.
Provectus Care has been named a Finalist in the NSW Export Awards in 2017 under the category of Health and Biotechnology and in 2018 under the category of International Development.

Dr Moran, the founder and CEO of Provectus Care, has long envisaged expanding Provectus’ operations into China. Dr Moran completed his PhD thesis on the challenges facing aged care in China and has maintained a keen academic and professional interest in the market.
Today, the need to increase the number of aged care beds in China is well recognised by both the Chinese government and the broader international community. China presently has a short fall of between 3 to 6 million aged care places, a number which is forecast to grow rapidly as their population ages.
The combination of the critical need for aged care places in China, coupled with Provectus Care’s reputation as a leader of Australia’s renowned and highly developed residential aged care system offers a unique opportunity for Provectus Care. Provectus Care launched our first Asia Pacific facility in 2015 with the opening of Tiantong Hall in Beijing. The 200 bed facility was operated in partnership with the Shuntiantong Group and quickly gained a reputation for elite care and lifestyle thanks to the implementation of international best practice standards.

Provectus Care adopts a capital light model in its co-operation projects in China, providing consulting, management and training services, and lending its brand and name to the immature and developing seniors care sector in China.  It has also established cross border staff training programs and assists in building local IP and software management capabilities for its local partners.

Provectus Care operates its Asia Business operations through Provectus Care (Hong Kong) Limited and Provectus Care (Shanghai) Company Limited.  Since first entering the market in 2015, Provectus has developed a strong network of connections in China in the health and medical sectors.  It currently has in strong relationships with local highly reputable companies such as Greenland (Hong Kong) Holdings Limited, Shanghai International Medical Centre and LV Kang Medical Care.

Greenland (Hong Kong) Holdings Limited is the Hong Kong listed unit of Greenland Holdings Corporation Limited, a large Shanghai based conglomerate controlled by the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration of the Shanghai Municipal Government.  The Greenland Group has a presence in over 100 cities globally and is recognised as the No 1 Chinese real estate company on the Fortune Global 500. Greenland Hong Kong has announced plans to embark on an aggressive plan to diversify into the health care and elderly care markets in China. In March 2018, it selected Provectus Care as partner and manager for its first dementia project in the health care space. In 2022, Provectus Care divested its interest in the project to one of the joint venture partners, Shanghai International Medical Centre.

LV Kang Group is the most profitable aged care and seniors living operator in China. Established over 10 years ago, LV Kang works under the public private partnership model to build infrastructure and operate medical and aged care facilities primarily in the Zhejiang region in China.  It relies on the integrated healthcare model with its facilities providing medical, rehabilitation and aged care and nursing home to the elderly and disabled within large integrated campuses. Provectus Care has provided staff training courses for local staff in China and consulting services to the LV Kang Group.
